Substitute Teacher Fired Over Onlyfans Account Says Business Is Booming

A Missouri woman says her free speech was violated. Her adult content site has attracted more subscribers after news spread of her dismissal. One job paid about $140 a day. The other often pays that much in an hour. Both were important for different reasons. Sheena Sittner, 42, had worked with kids for decades and found a home in the Parkway School District in suburban St. Louis, where she’s been for more than two years. “I love those kids,” she said of the elementary school students, whom she said would often greet her with a hug. One of them is…

Federal Court Blocks Utah’s “Actual-Location” Age-Verification Provision

On September 24, 2026, a federal court in Utah issued a preliminary injunction preventing Utah from enforcing a 2026 amendment to its adult-content age-verification law that treated a user as accessing a website from Utah whenever the user was actually located in the state, even if the user used a VPN, proxy server, or similar technology to appear to be somewhere else. The ruling does not strike down Utah’s underlying age-verification law, which remains enforceable. Why the Ruling Matters The challenged provision required covered websites to account for Utah users who conceal their location. The court concluded that, as written,…

Federal SCREEN Act Scheduled for Senate Markup

What Adult Platforms Need to Know The U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation will consider the Shielding Children’s Retinas from Egregious Exposure on the Net Act, commonly known as the SCREEN Act, during an executive session scheduled for August 5, 2026. The bill, S. 737, would establish a federal age-verification mandate for online platforms that regularly make adult content available for profit. The SCREEN Act is only one of several online-safety bills on the committee’s agenda, but it is the proposal with the most direct and immediate significance for the adult entertainment industry. Committee approval would send the…

Supreme Court Allows Texas App Store Age-Verification Law to Remain in Effect

On July 6, 2026, the United States Supreme Court declined to block enforcement of Texas’s App Store Accountability Act, leaving the law in effect while litigation continues. The Supreme Court’s action is not a final ruling on the constitutionality of the law. However, as a practical matter, adult-industry platforms, creator platforms, social platforms, dating apps, marketplace apps, and other mobile-app operators should treat the Texas law as currently enforceable and evaluate whether their app-store distribution, age-assurance, parental-consent, privacy, monetization, and compliance practices need to be updated. What the Texas Law Does The Texas App Store Accountability Act requires covered app…

Federal Age-Verification Proposal for Adult Websites Gains Bipartisan Momentum

On June 22, 2026, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Brett Guthrie and Ranking Member Frank Pallone announced a bipartisan agreement on the Kids Internet and Digital Safety Act, or KIDS Act. According to the committee announcement, the package includes portions of several children’s online safety bills, including the SCREEN Act. For the adult-entertainment industry, the SCREEN Act is the key issue. Prior versions of the SCREEN Act focused on requiring certain websites that make adult material available online to use age-verification technology to prevent minors from accessing material harmful to minors. The committee has not yet released the final…

Not so Sweet Alabama – How the State Became One of the Most Hostile Jurisdictions for the Adult Industry

Over the past two years, Alabama has quietly — but aggressively — transformed itself into one of the most restrictive and unfriendly jurisdictions in the United States for the adult entertainment industry. Through the enactment of House Bill 164 and related enforcement mechanisms, the state has layered taxation, compliance burdens, and content restrictions in a way that goes far beyond traditional regulation. Featured In The May 2026 Edition Of XBIZ World Taken together, these measures — most notably a 10% tax on adult-content revenue, mandatory age verification requirements, and a notarization mandate for performer consent documents — have created a…

Garnishing The Wages Of Sin

In the crowded field of Florida’s 2026 gubernatorial race, Republican candidate James Fishback has managed to generate national headlines with a proposal that blends culture-war rhetoric with fiscal policy: a 50 percent “sin tax” on income earned by Florida-based OnlyFans creators. Featured In The April 2026 Edition Of XBIZ World Don’t Worry: This Law Is Going Nowhere The idea, which Fishback frames as both a moral corrective and a revenue-raising tool, has drawn sharp reactions from across the political spectrum. Supporters characterize it as a bold stand against what they view as the social harms of online adult content. Critics…

U.S. Supreme Court Issues Opinion in FSC v. Paxton: Major Implications for Age Verification, Free Speech and State Regulation

Today, the United States Supreme Court issued its long-awaited opinion in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, a landmark case addressing the constitutionality of Texas’ age-verification law targeting adult content online. In a closely watched decision, the Court ruled in favor of Texas. Background The case arose from a Texas law requiring all publishers of online adult content to implement stringent age-verification mechanisms to prevent minors from accessing such material. The Free Speech Coalition (FSC), a trade association representing the adult entertainment industry, challenged the law as a violation of free speech rights and a form of compelled disclosure. Lower courts…
