WIPO recently found in favor of C4S for the second time in less than a month, preventing bad faith use of the ‘confusingly similar’ domain.

Cyberspace (March 17, 2022): Clips4Sale.com (C4S), the original and #1 downloadable video clips site, and adult industry attorney Corey D. Silverstein, the driving force behind MyAdultAttorney.com and Adult.Law, recently “slayed” for the second time in less than a month. This time, in a decision regarding the bad faith registration and potential use of the “confusingly similar” domain Clips4Crypto.com.

A complaint regarding Clips4Sale was filed with the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) arbitration and mediation center on January 6, 2022. After following proper procedure and conducting an in-depth investigation, WIPO concluded that the domain was registered in bad faith.

In this specific case, WIPO concluded that the disputed domain name was clearly selected by intentionally misspelling the Clips4Sale trademark. WIPO wrote that this was “a clear case of intentional misspelling of the Complainant’s trademark, or typosquatting.” WIPO thus ordered the domain Clips4Sale be transferred to Clips4Sale.

“I’m very pleased with WIPO’s decision in this matter. In this particular case, the registrant erroneously believed that it could hide in China,” Silverstein said. “Brazen attempts to steal someone else’s intellectual property is not tolerable, and Clips4Sale will not hesitate to act to protect its brand and users.”
