Join attorney Corey D. Silverstein and esteemed guests for a discussion about age verification legislation currently developing in a number of US states.

Cyberspace (March 16, 2023) – Join adult industry attorney Corey D. Silverstein, the driving force behind MyAdultAttorney.com and Adult.Law, alongside attorney Lawrence Walters, performer and producer Charlie Forde, and Grooby CEO, Steven Grooby for the next event in Silverstein Legal’s Legal Impact series.

“Age Verification Legislation: What the &^$% is Going On?!” will be live-streamed on Monday March 20th at 4 pm ET (1 pm PT) via Zoom. During this special event, Silverstein will lead a discussion exploring why – seemingly all of a sudden – we’re seeing an increasing number of states passing age verification legislation. What does this mean for the adult entertainment community in general and free speech overall?

The event is sponsored by YourPaysitePartner and will be hosted by sociologist Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals.

This issue is extremely timely and relevant, as what happens in individual US states often has the potential to spread around the globe.

“Age verification is now active in some US states, and other territories will follow,” Grooby explained. “The adult industry has been somewhat engaged, but the next few years is going to be a changing landscape as legislators for each state demand different barriers and different companies compete for a share of the income.”

Forde underscored Grooby’s point, stating that, “In Australia, I’m lucky because sex work is being decriminalized state by state, and this gives me a lot of protection. America is very different, and the vast majority of payment gateways follow American laws, predominantly.”

“No one in the industry wants children to be exposed to non-age-appropriate content… We want to protect children in ways that don’t result in discrimination against our industry,” Forde said. “The industry needs to be engaged because we are the only people who can really advocate for ourselves. No other industries are going to protect us.”

Legal Impact live webinar events are hosted by sociologist Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals and are produced in conjunction with exclusive media sponsor XBIZ. All live events are free to attend for all members of the adult entertainment community and will be posted subsequently on MyAdultAttorney.com, Adult.law, and XBIZ.tv.
